The Access Coordinator performs a variety of data entry and general registration functions for patient access. This position accurately collects patient demographic and insurance data to ensure appropriate reimbursement and claim filing. This position helps manage the flow in the emergency room registration department. This position is responsible for answering the phone, performing admission functions for behavioral medicine patients, and taking paperwork to its designated area. This position acts as a resource in providing all customers with the highest level of service. This position enhances the hospital experience for patients, families and visitors by providing appropriate hospitality and concierge services.
Responsibilities
- Completes all registrations in a professional, accurate and customer–oriented timely manner.
- Obtains information from patient health insurance or managed care identification card.
- Responsible for supporting patient flow throughout the admission and emergency room encounter.
- Maintains forms in all printers at all times, which may require lifting or carrying cases of forms.
Qualifications
Minimum Education
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
Minimum Work Experience
- 0-1 year Customer service experience Required
