Go Kids is hiring an Accounting Specialist. Full-time, Non-Exempt position ($30.71 -$ 36.85 per hour, DOE).

SUMMARY: Prepare and maintain financial records for Go Kids, Inc. and GK Financial Services clients in accordance with the HR & Fiscal Policy and Procedures Manual of Go Kids, Inc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following as well as other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned.
I. GENERAL ACCOUNTING:
· Process journal entries as part of monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing process, and include supporting documentation.
· Perform assigned tasks for monthly, quarterly, and yearly close.
· Perform final review of attendance for Centers and Homes & AP reimbursements before processing for payment through the Accounts Payable department and inputting data for State reporting requirements.
· Reconcile monthly bank statements.
· Prepare monthly invoices with supporting documentation for Client grants.
· Reconciles and recommends resolution for report discrepancies and problems.
· Prepare the monthly Board report package.
· Assist to establish and oversee financial record keeping system.
· Analyze general ledger to ensure reconciliation with detail ledgers and/or supporting schedules. Process journal entries as needed with supporting documentation.
· Assists in the preparation of pertinent information for external accounting firm and auditors.
· Enroll in appropriate training to adhere to the department’s professional development goals.
· Assimilate employees’ caseloads and project loads to determine an accurate cost allocation plan.
· Assist in preparation of annual Agency budget.
II. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Cross train on accounting functions (i.e., Sage Intacct, KinderTrack, Excel, etc).
· Assist with additional clerical support as needed by Accounting Senior, Controller, and/or Chief Financial Officer.
· Generate reports for Finance department from KinderTrack as needed.
· Deposit and post cash receipts for the Agency obtained outside of the Accounts Receivable process.
· Other duties as assigned.

· Thorough knowledge of office administration (including efficient filing systems, office machines and equipment, and computer software) and skilled in customer service and employee relations.

· Must be able to adjust tasks and focus with composure, and in accordance with changing deadlines and priorities.
· Requires belief in working as a professional, cohesive team member.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Accounting from a four-year college or related field or certificate program preferred. Minimum of one year of related experience working in a business and/or non-profit environment required. Must have a valid CA driver’s license.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures with conformance to the prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from government entities, employees, managers, clients, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
· Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to calculate figures & amounts with a 10 Key.
REASONING ABILITY:
· Ability to define and solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables, occasionally in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
