The Role
The IT Project Manager will be responsible for leading and delivering key IT projects across the organization, with a focus on IT infrastructure, end-user computing (EUC), cloud migrations, and supporting global events initiatives. Key technologies and methodologies include PRINCE2, M365, Azure Cloud Services, Adobe Design Software, Veeam Backup Services, DNS Services, Cloudflare, Ninja One, Kandji, as well as related security services such as CrowdStrike and Tenable IO. The role involves managing IT project lifecycles from initiation to closure, coordinating cross-functional IT teams, and ensuring alignment with business objectives. The role will also involve IT-related mergers and acquisitions (M&A) work, such as system integrations for new acquisitions within the Events business.
Within the IT Team, the IT Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and closing IT projects while maintaining a centre of excellence around IT project management practices. This role requires extensive knowledge of IT project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2), exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Collaborates with key IT stakeholders to define project scopes, objectives, and deliverables for IT infrastructure, EUC, and cloud initiatives aligned with business goals.
- Develops and maintains detailed IT project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations using PRINCE2 principles.
- Manages IT project risks, issues, and changes through proactive identification, assessment, and mitigation strategies, including for high-availability event systems.
- Coordinates cross-functional IT teams, including developers, engineers, vendors, and security specialists, to ensure timely project execution.
- Monitors IT project progress, performance metrics, and quality assurance to deliver projects on time and within budget, such as system upgrades or event tech deployments.
- Ensures adherence to regulatory, compliance, and governance requirements for all IT projects across global operations.
- Establishes IT project governance through stage gates, reporting, stakeholder communications, and knowledge transfer.
- Implements and manages IT project management tools (e.g., ITSM or PM software like Microsoft Project or Jira) for tracking tasks, resources, and milestones.
- Supports alignment of AI-enhanced IT strategies with organizational goals, where applicable, such as AI-driven monitoring tools.
- Assists in the design and implementation of Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) network projects and autonomous IT operations using modern technologies.
- Assists with cybersecurity projects, including threat detection and operational technology (OT) security, in hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
- Research and development of new IT products and services relevant to areas of responsibility.
- Establishes and maintains IT project policies, procedures, diagrams, and artifacts for operational efficiency and knowledge sharing.
- Planning, procurement, designing, developing, and commissioning IT systems for project monitoring and incident management.
- Business case development and evaluation in support of proposed IT initiatives.
Unusual Challenges or Circumstances
- May require work outside normal office hours, including weekends, holidays, and travel, subject to manager's discretion and discussed as needed.

Person Specification
Knowledge and Experience
- Demonstrable experience in managing IT projects in a 24/7 or global environment.
- Leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience desired.
- Knowledge and application of IT networks and projects within an events or experiential company.
- Knowledge of EUC, M365, cloud, and identity services in a project context.
Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in IT project planning, scheduling, and resource management, including risk assessment and mitigation for infrastructure projects.
- Expertise in stakeholder management within IT, handling communications, expectations, and conflict resolution.

Qualifications and Training
- PRINCE2 Practitioner qualified (required).

- Design and implementation experience for change, incident, and problem management processes (preferably integrated with PRINCE2 or ITIL).
