DIGITAL MARKETING SPECIALIST - St Leonards, Sydney
Hamilton Island is seeking an experienced and results-driven Digital Marketing Specialist to join our Sydney-based team. Reporting to the Director of Digital & Data, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving direct online bookings through the strategic management of digital marketing campaigns, optimisation of booking funnels, and delivery of compelling digital content across our platforms.

Where you’ll make an impact
Digital Media Management
- Strategise and optimise always-on digital advertising campaigns across various channels, including SEM, Meta Search, Affiliate Marketing and direct response display
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with external partners, including digital agencies and vendors
- Develop and monitor budgets, track performance against KPIs, and present actionable insights to senior management
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to produce copy and digital assets for advertising campaigns
- Implement robust campaign tracking mechanisms to measure and analyse KPIs including ROI, conversion rates and customer acquisition costs
- Present performance reports and insights to senior management with recommendations for continual improvement
Booking Funnel and Booking Engine Conversion Optimisation
- Conceptualise, create, and A/B test website messaging campaigns to enhance cross-selling, up-selling and conversion rates
- Develop and execute Cart Abandonment programs utilising booking engine data to retarget and recapture potential bookings
- Conduct routine QA and UAT on Booking Engines to ensure functionality, relevant messaging and improved user experience
- Employ a data-driven approach to optimise acquisition and retargeting strategies, increasing online conversion rates, customer acquisition and revenue
Content Production & Optimisation
- Develop and provide support for new online direct USP projects such as exclusive package inclusions for the direct channel
- Strategically showcase ‘Book Direct’ USPs at every digital touchpoint
- Create and optimise landing pages using UX principles and audience segmentation (e.g. personalised itinerary webpages)
- Collaborate with stakeholders to oversee design and development of microsites aligned with SEO and UX best practices
- Craft tactical and functional messaging that resonates with target audiences and delivers on communication objectives
- Analyse website data to optimise site structure and content, driving conversions and efficiency
- Ensure all websites are tuned for search engine visibility and user experience
- Manage and maintain relevant SEO and UX tools and platforms, staying current with industry advancements
What we’re looking for
The successful candidate will have proven experience in digital marketing with a focus on campaign management, conversion optimisation and content production. Strong analytical and project management skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively with both internal stakeholders and external partners.
To be successful, you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proficiency in digital advertising platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Meta Ads), Content Management Systems (eg. Kentico) and web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
- Knowledge of SEO best practices and experience with UX/UI principles is highly advantageous
