Role Detail 

 

KWMConnexion is a unique extension of KWM’s legal services. It is designed to help us meet client secondment demand when we are unable to place an internal KWM lawyer. The Connexion talent pool consists of lawyers with a strong connection to the firm — including KWM Alumni, former clients, and high-quality referrals from our Partners. 

 

Managed by our dedicated Flexible Resourcing Team, KWMConnexion plays a key role in delivering flexible resourcing solutions to our clients while maintaining the KWM standard of legal excellence. 

 

Reporting to the Workforce Management Consultant, this role is focused on managing the KWMConnexion candidates and supporting the successful delivery of secondment services to our clients. 

 

You’ll act as a key connector between our talent and the firm, to ensure seamless secondment experiences. 

 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Liaise with KWM Partners and client Hiring Managers to understand secondment requirements. 
  • Interview new referrals to assess suitability and availability. 
  • Engage with passive candidates on our database to determine if they are open to opportunities. 
  • Shortlist and present qualified candidates quickly to meet urgent client needs. 
  • Negotiate terms of business, contract rates, and margins. 
  • Coordinate contract preparation, extensions, and terminations. 
  • Act as the main point of contact for contractors during assignments. 
  • Conduct regular check-ins and support contract renewals or redeployment into new roles. 

 

About You 

 

Clients often need secondment support fast. The role requires balancing urgency with quality. You will know what makes a good in-house counsel or secondee and working directly with KWM Partners and external client hiring managers — strong interpersonal credibility is crucial.  

You will also bring: 

  • Legal recruitment experience — ideally from a legal recruitment agency or internal legal resourcing team
  • Strong understanding of the legal industry e.g titles and specialisations  
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Ability to work at pace and fill urgent roles quickly. 
  • Commercial acumen for rate negotiation and margin management. 
  • Empathy and relationship management to keep both clients and contractors satisfied.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence key stakeholders. 
  • Project management and time management skills.
  • Capacity to multi-task and a flexible, proactive attitude.
