Job Description:

CD PROJEKT RED is on the lookout for a Senior Level Artist to join our studio and help bring to life Project Sirius. We’re searching for someone with strong skills in visual storytelling and a passion for creative world-building and how it interacts with game design and playability.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Creating locations that provide the best player experience.
  • Supporting evocative environmental storytelling through detailed and creative set dressing.
  • Collaborating with the Art Director and Art Leads to maintain artistic consistency and the game’s visual vision while building immersive levels and scenes.
  • Working with the tech art team to set up materials and shaders for high-quality visuals.
  • Defining environmental effects for your locations.
  • Collaborating with Level Designers, Quest, and Story teams to create unforgettable locations.
  • Building locations that align with the technical specifications set by the Tech Art team.
  • Adding finishing touches to locations and cutscenes using existing meshes and decals.
  • Maintaining the production pipeline and meeting project deadlines.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in Level Design or World Building in the game industry.
  • Experience with Unreal Engine 5 or similar game engines.
  • Strong understanding of light, value, composition, color, set dressing, and environmental storytelling.
  • Proven experience in world-building and its interaction with game design and player experience.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, time management, and collaboration skills.
  • Open-World Building experience is a plus.
  • US work authorization.

Preferred

  • Strong artistic abilities, whether in traditional or digital media.
  • Modeling experience.
  • Experience in lighting for game environments.
  • Familiarity with the technical requirements of current game consoles, including memory and performance considerations.

Working mode

This role offers flexible working arrangements. It can be:

  • Hybrid or in-office from our Boston location, or
  • Fully remote from anywhere on the U.S. East Coast
