We have an opportunity for a Software and Applications Manager in Information Services

The Manager of the Software & Applications Team plays a critical leadership role in ensuring the organization’s software ecosystem remains reliable, secure, and aligned with business goals. This individual is responsible for overseeing the support, maintenance, and evolution of enterprise applications, with a strong focus on operational excellence, user experience, and continuous improvement. This role also serves as a senior escalation point for application-related issues and leads efforts to improve documentation, support processes, and overall system performance. This role is eligible for hybrid work.

Essential Functions:

Performs independently and manages software and applications team for:

Technology Strategy & Optimization

  • Analyze emerging technology trends (e.g., AI/ML, low-code platforms, SaaS ecosystems) to identify opportunities for business and workflow optimization.
  • Align application strategies with enterprise architecture and long-term digital transformation goals.
  • Guide the team through complex troubleshooting, implements preventative strategies, and identifies opportunities to optimize workflows through technology.

Support & Lifecycle Management

  • Oversee the testing, implementation, and upgrades of software applications across the organization.
  • Ensure application performance, stability, and scalability through ongoing monitoring and optimization.

Technical Expertise & Leadership

  • Serve as an escalation point for complex application and software-related issues.
  • Maintain deep technical understanding of enterprise software systems, including integrations, configurations, and interdependencies.
  • Provide and oversee tiered support with clear escalation pathways and service-level accountability.

Process Improvement & Documentation

  • Lead the documentation of recurring issues, fixes, FAQs, and best practices to enhance institutional knowledge and reduce ticket volume.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience with software development and application related technologies
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning skills.
  • Strong written and documentation skills.
  • Able to develop and interpret technical and application documentation for training and end-user procedures.
  • Continuously monitors industry trends
  • Travel between locations as required
  • Ability to work on call rotation schedule, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of relevant experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years working in a technology field, with progressive responsibilities.
  • Detailed understanding of HIPAA Security Rule, HITECH and a HITRUST/SOC operating environment (or equivalent)
