Role Summary
The mandate of the Pre-Press team is to translate card designs to accurate, error-free, and quality-checked forms that are ready for offset press and/or digital press. Fanatics Collectibles is looking for a Prepress Imposition Operator to support file imposition and proofing processes in line with our Pre-Press team’s commitment to excellence. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and managing digital files for print production using Computer-to-Plate (CTP) technology. This role requires a strong understanding of imposition techniques and an eye for quality control. Candidates with a passion for sports and entertainment are likely to align well with the company’s culture.
In this role, you will…
- Create impositions for offset and digital print output
- Collaborate closely with the production team to understand schedules and follow print job priorities based on timelines and capacity
- Use software to analyze incoming jobs, and ensuring files are prepared, arranged, adjusted, and ensuring that settings align each job specs, for optimal delivery
- Use specialized prepress software to manipulate digital files, set up bleeds, trims, margins, define page layouts, color separations and trapping, for specific printing methods
- Conduct quality checks on layout proofs, comparing to approved files and addressing deviations
- Strong collaboration skills to work with other prepress departments in a fast-paced environment
- Drive to continue learning and stay current on industry trends, software updates, and emerging technologies related to print production and workflow systems
The ideal candidate:
- Proven experience (2+ years) as a Prepress Imposition Operator or in a similar production role
- Demonstrated proficiency operating and managing projects imposition software (Metrix Software experience is a plus)
- Strong understanding of print production processes, color management, printing materials, substrates, and pre-press techniques
- Familiarity with different printing technologies (digital, offset, etc.) and associated equipment
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities, especially in addressing technical challenges / errors and optimizing workflows
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and flex across multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities
