PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Performs landscape maintenance duties at assigned location.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for completing all daily and weekly tasks according to standards as specified by the Ground Maintenance Supervisor. Performs grounds maintenance activities that may include, but are not limited to, mowing, edging, sweeping, raking, bagging and disposing of yard waste, hedge and tree trimming, irrigation repair, and simple operation of basic landscape equipment. Assists in monitoring a running inventory of supplies and maintaining all grounds equipment required to perform job duties. Uses supplies as directed by Ground Maintenance Supervisor in accordance with company standards. Notifies Supervisor regarding any problems with co-workers/program participants. Works overtime as required, including weekends. Performs other job related duties as required. Safeguards company property, including donated goods. Reports any incident of theft or unauthorized possession of company property. Acts safely at all times, following all safety rules and regulations. Follows all company policies and procedures. Promotes and demonstrated cooperation and teamwork. Assists and shares knowledge and information with other employees and needed. Uses good interpersonal skill such as courtesy, sensitivity, politeness, and thoughtfulness. Works with, trains, and/or acts as a good example for program participants receiving training at landmark.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED preferred. Prior experience working with people with disabilities helpful. Six (6) months janitorial and landscaping services experience. Ability to operate/work with: rake, broom, shovel, burlaps, lawnmowers, edgers, and backpack blowers….etc. Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to operate landscaping and janitorial equipment and machinery. Ability to stand during most of the shift and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 20 pounds on a regular basis.
