Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care within a fast-paced medical environment, such as an emergency medicine department or urgent care facility. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a Level I Trauma Center or hospital setting.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
• HSD/GED
• Medical Assistant Certificate/Diploma from a DAPIP-accredited program OR national certification through AAMA, AMCA, AMT, CCBMA, or MMCI.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests, taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature, and reporting patient history summaries
• 2 years working as an MA in an outpatient clinic or medical office setting
• Proficiency with blood/lab draws and venipuncture
Charting System: Preferred, Epic
Certifications: BLS, Diploma, and cert
Shift: Day 5x8-Hour (07:30 - 17:30)
Preferred Qualifications:
• 2+ years working as an MA in Internal Med/Family Practice
• Experience with Quest Diagnostic laboratory submissions
• Phlebotomy certification
• Understanding of medical terminology
• Experience with CS-Link/Epic
• Experience with medical insurance, referral processes, and benefit plans
Skills
Knowledge of emergency medicine practices and protocols is essential.
Experience working in a hospital or Level I Trauma Center is highly desirable.
Proficiency in medical administrative support functions, including electronic health records (EHR) management.
Familiarity with medication administration procedures and safety protocols.
Understanding of medical terminology to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals.
Ability to perform under pressure in urgent care situations while maintaining patient-centered care.
Strong interpersonal skills to interact compassionately with patients and their families.
Shift: Day 5x8-Hour (08:00 - 17:00)
Pay:$30.99 per hour
