Job Title: Workers’ Compensation Claims Manager

Position Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Workers’ Compensation Claims Manager to lead and manage all aspects of workers’ compensation for clinical and non-clinical staff in diverse healthcare settings. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of multi-state workers’ comp laws, experience in healthcare staffing, and excels at cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage workers’ compensation claims from initial report through resolution, ensuring timely filing and compliance with state-specific regulations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for injured employees, insurance carriers, third-party administrators (TPAs), and legal counsel.
- Direct injured employees care with the insurance carrier.
- Coordinate with staffing operations, credentialing, and HR teams to gather incident details and ensure accurate documentation.
- Investigate claims, assess compensability, and recommend appropriate action plans.
- Develop and manage return-to-work programs tailored to healthcare staffing scenarios, including modified duty options across client sites.
- Monitor claims trends and collaborate with Safety and Compliance teams to implement preventive strategies.
- Maintain accurate records and generate reports for leadership on claims status, costs, and risk exposure.
- Provide training and support to internal teams and field staff on injury reporting protocols and workers’ compensation policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Risk Management, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing workers’ compensation claims, preferably in healthcare staffing or a related industry.
- Strong understanding of multi-state workers’ compensation laws and healthcare workplace risks.
- Experience working with TPAs, insurance carriers, and legal counsel.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in claims management systems.
- Certification in Workers’ Compensation or Risk Management is a plus.
