Role Overview: The Break-Fix Technician for inkjet printing is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining inkjet printers to ensure they function correctly. This role requires in-depth knowledge of printer hardware, software, and consumables, along with the ability to provide quick and effective solutions to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Diagnosis and Troubleshooting:
   • Identify and diagnose issues with inkjet printers, including hardware failures, software malfunctions, and print quality problems.
   • Use diagnostic tools and software to assess printer performance and pinpoint issues.
2. Repair and Maintenance:
   • Perform on-site and in-house repairs of inkjet printers, including replacing defective parts, resolving software issues, and calibrating machines.
   • Conduct routine maintenance such as cleaning printheads, replacing ink cartridges, and aligning printers to prevent future issues.
   • Keep a record of all repairs, maintenance tasks, and parts used.
3. Technical Support:
   • Provide technical support to end-users, assisting them with troubleshooting basic issues and educating them on proper printer use.
   • Respond to service requests in a timely manner, ensuring minimal disruption to printing operations.
4. Parts and Inventory Management:
   • Manage spare parts inventory, ensuring that essential components are readily available for repairs.
   • Order and track parts as needed, maintaining accurate records of stock levels and usage.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
   • Maintain detailed logs of service activities, including issues encountered, actions taken, and parts used.
   • Generate reports on recurring issues to help identify trends and recommend improvements.
6. Collaboration and Communication:
   • Work closely with other technicians, IT staff, and vendors to resolve complex issues.
   • Communicate effectively with clients or internal teams to provide updates on repair status and any potential delays.
