What does it mean to be a Business Analyst II at GLS?
DUTIES:
• Promote improvements and modifications to GLS business practices, such as automated decision rules, customer treatments, and operational practices.
• In Product or Credit Risk Management areas this may include assessments/tracking/adherence of GLS Credit Policy and Pricing/Structuring Algorithms through rigorous analysis along the dimensions of risk, estimation and forecasting of default probability, market elasticity, and internal cost efficiencies.
• In Operations, this may include process redesign, trend interpretations, queuing strategies, forecasts, capacity planning, and other activities.
• Work to develop tools used in simulation/Monte Carlo analysis.
• Gather market and competitor research data to understand alignment with standard practices and/or potential innovation opportunities.
• Maintain a strong comprehensive understanding of competitiveness relative to key industry drivers.
• Assist with key control processes and report administration.
• Provide support for databases and applications owned by team.
• Communicate and present analytical findings to management.
• Independently determine specific activities/approach to meet department goals identified by management and develop and maintain a daily work schedule that effectively meets the needs of the business unit and company.
• Run daily reports to optimize workflow efficiency; ensure team meets service level expectations of internal and external customers.
• Maintain electronic records and files that support work performed, results, and outcomes.
• Foster a collaborative culture that facilitates the achievement of business plan objectives by working closely with other associates and members of management.
• Participate in special projects as needed. Perform additional assignments as required by the needs of the company or as directed by management.
• Remote work from home permitted one (1) day a week within a reasonable commuting distance to the Greenville, SC office.

What should you already know to be successful as a Business Analyst II?
Employment Requirements:
Main Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, or a closely related field and thirty (30) months of experience as a (all levels) Business Analyst, Compliance Analyst, Quantitative Analyst, Financial Analyst, or related occupation where required experience gained.
Alternate Education and Experience: In lieu of Bachelor’s degree in the stated fields and thirty (30) months of stated experience, the employer will accept a Master’s degree in stated fields and six (6) months of stated experience.
SPECIAL SKILLS: Also requires six (6) months of experience in the following:
• Management of key business processes and solutions before, during, and after project implementations;
• Analytics activities producing forecasts, key insights, dashboards, and reports and tools;
• Building business solutions in a white-space environment;
• Data and credit analytics;
• Product management of highly technical and multifaceted solutions.
• Develop tools used in simulation/Monte Carlo analysis;
• SQL relational databases or related software such as Microsoft Access; and
• Advanced Excel including pivot tables.
