Capital Area Pediatrics offers accessible, comprehensive pediatric care to families at five practice locations throughout Northern Virginia. For both sickness and health, generations of families have chosen Capital Area Pediatrics to provide outstanding care and an exceptional patient experience. We’re now seeking Registered Nurses (RNs) or Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join our team for the upcoming immunization season. This temporary opportunity is perfect for clinicians who want to make a meaningful impact by keeping our community healthy during flu and COVID-19 vaccine clinics.
Schedule
- Temporary position October - January.
- Flexible shifts may include days, evenings, or weekends.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer influenza and COVID-19 vaccines safely and in accordance with current clinical guidelines.
- Screen patients for contraindications and provide clear, accurate answers to vaccine-related questions.
- Document all vaccinations promptly and accurately.
- Follow strict infection control and safety protocols.
- Assist with clinic setup, patient flow management, and post-vaccination observation.
- Deliver outstanding customer service and represent Capital Area Pediatrics with professionalism.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA regulations preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
- Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions.
- Ability to multi-task and perform well in a fast-paced patient care environment.
Requirements
- Current and valid RN or LPN license in Virginia.
- Previous experience administering flu and Covid vaccines to pediatric patients.
- Experience with Athena EMR is a plus!
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.
