This is a hybrid role, with in-office time being required each week, from any of our Northeast Kingdom locations.

The Revenue Cycle Associate ensures timely and accurate claims processing, revenue cycle management, and compliance with insurance guidelines and coding standards. They possess deep knowledge of medical and dental procedures, coding systems, and payer requirements, alongside strong communication skills. Acting as a bridge between clinical staff, front office, and payers, the Revenue Cycle Associate plays a key role in optimizing reimbursement, resolving billing issues, and supporting the financial health of the practices.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Payment posting (EFT and paper monies)
  • Claim recoups and adjustments through dental billing system(s).
  • Working denials, appealing claims as necessary.
  • Credit balance reporting
  • Resolves issues related to checks payable to the provider and incorrect addresses
  • Adding, removing and invalidating codes on claim level as needed
  • Updating/maintaining fee schedule (Slide Table)
  • Entering and maintaining insurances
  • Batching and sending patient statements out monthly
  • Sending collections reports- working directly with collection agency to maintain accurate debt and recovery transactions.
  • Insurance and patient aging audits
  • Assists co-workers with questions and issues as they arise
  • Performs other related tasks as required or assigned by the Revenue Cycle Manager

Position Qualifications:

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a revenue cycle position
  • Background in healthcare billing procedures, preferably in a dental, FQHC and/or Home Health and Hospice
  • Must maintain a high standard of performance and a high level of confidentiality.
  • Must maintain open communication with staff members to ensure smooth business operations.
  • Must have proficiency in computer skills including, but not limited to, email functions, spreadsheets, document processing, and Electronic Medical Records.
  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping, and stretching.
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriately.
  • May occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
