General Summary:
Under the direction of the physician/provider, provides nursing care in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
Essential Functions:
Clinical Duties (may include, but not limited to):
- Taking medical histories - documenting completely and accurately in the EMR
 - Preparing patients for examinations and as needed assisting the medical provider during examinations
 - Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens including urine, swabs, blood, or other as required
 - Performing basic in-office procedures such as ear cleanings or other minor clinical procedures at the direction of the medical providers
 - Performing basic Point of Care testing such as finger stick and urine dip
 - Providing education and instruction to the patient based on the medical provider's assessment and plan.
 - Preparing and administering medications/vaccines/immunizations, including intramuscular, intradermal, and subcutaneous injections—as directed by a physician or other licensed provider (e.g., a nurse practitioner or physician assistant)
 - Performing EKG/ECG
 
Administrative Duties (may include, but not limited to):
- Using computer applications and Electronic Medical Record
 - Answering telephones and calling patients with results or other clinical information designated by the provider

 - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, making use of down time or slow time to prepare for influx of patients
 
- Maintains current knowledge/certification/licensure. Pursues professional growth and attends all required training programs.
