This position is benefits eligible on the first of the month following hire and offers 14 PTO days, 11 paid holidays, and 10 vacation days annually (prorated for term of employment)
This position is governed by our Hamburg Area Education Support Professionals Agreement and requires a 90-workday probation period.

Position Summary Under immediate supervision, cleans assigned area or facilities of Hamburg Area School District daily. Assists with grounds maintenance and athletic field preparation. Reports to the Director of Facilities.
Minimum Qualifications 1. High school graduation or other equivalent (i.e., General Educational Development (GED), foreign equivalency, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications 1. Prior experience in an industrial/commercial setting.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 1. Ability to understand written and oral instructions. 2. Ability to operate and maintain custodial equipment. 3. Ability to operate and maintain lawn care and landscaping equipment. 4. Ability to perform physically demanding work. 5. Ability to learn the appropriate use of cleaning products. 6. Ability to climb ladders for cleaning and changing of lights. 7. Ability to work flexible work schedules. 8. Ability to work cooperatively with employees, students, and the public. 9. Ability to recognize and report hazards and apply safe work methods. 10. Possess physical and mental stamina commensurate with the responsibilities of the position.

Service soap dispensers, towel boxes, and similar containers. 6. Empty and clean wastepaper baskets and other refuse containers. 7. Clean whiteboards. 8. Move and adjust chairs, desks, tables, supplies, furniture, and equipment. 9. Strip, seal, and wax floors. 10. Remove spots and graffiti from floors, walls, woodwork, furniture, carpets, and fixtures. 11. Wash and scrub walls, lavatory fixtures, windows, drinking fountains, drains, lights, light fixtures, and painted surfaces. 12. Wash and dry laundry. 13. Operate power sweepers, polishers, and other power equipment. 14. May be required to move, assemble or disassemble furniture, equipment, or other items, or to assist other crafts in an emergency or as the need arises. 15. Edge, trim, and mow grounds areas. 16. Assist in maintenance of trees and shrubs. 17. Perform preventive maintenance on light to medium duty diesel and gasoline internal combustion, hydraulic, and electric power equipment. 18. In inclement weather, may be required to remove snow from walkways using necessary equipment (shovel, gas powered blower and/or gas powered snow blower (if properly trained/certified to use power equipment)). 19. Conform to safety standards as prescribed. 20. Perform related duties consistent with job description and assignment. 21. Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands: Frequent sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, carrying, crawling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, repetitive fine motor activities, climbing, and balancing. Mobility to work in a typical office setting and use standard office equipment. Hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone. Vision: Frequent near and far acuity, depth perception, focal length change, and color vision. Strength: Medium/Heavy - exert force 50-100 lbs., occasionally; 25-50 lbs., frequently; or 10-20 lbs., constantly.
Work Environment: Sometimes exposed to outdoor weather conditions with temperatures ranging from mild/moderate to extreme cold/heat. Exposure to noise levels ranging from moderate to loud for occasional to frequent time periods. Exposure to dust, wet and damp grounds, fumes and hazardous chemicals.
Hazards: Exposure to electric shock. Furniture, playground/office equipment, communicable diseases, chemicals and fumes (as related to specific assignment), and power/hand-operated equipment and machinery (as related to specific assignment).
Evaluation Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with School Board policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of non-licensed personnel.
