Wood is currently recruiting for a Repair Order Lead (Senior Project Engineer) in The Hub (Aberdeen) with extensive experience in the management of Repair Orders the Oil & Gas and Petrochemical Industry. This role will be based out of our Fabrication facility Craigshaw drive, Tullos, Aberdeen on a fixed term contract.
Hybrid – 3 days/ week in Tullos office
Responsibilities
The Role
This role provides leadership to a cross-functional delivery team, ensuring that repair orders are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget while meeting contractual and quality requirements.
- Supports delivery of repair orders across multiple clients through coordinating and delivering the engineering to the agreed schedule and cost and in accordance with applicable procedures, specifications, and standards
- Acting as the primary interface between clients and the company
- To continue to grow and develop additional clients and build up Woods Repair Order portfolio, and ensuring Wood is recognised as the partner of choice for repair order execution
- Coordinates the engineering / design and construction elements to support the timely issuing of engineering deliverables to meet project specifications
- Monitors and supports compliance with quality, HSE and assurance standards
- Responsible for portfolio-level cost and schedule control, contract performance management, and for driving continuous improvement in repair order execution models
- Ensures accurate and timely delivery of work, to the satisfaction of both internal and external customers
- Alerts Client Project Focal Point/s and project teams in the event of potential delays or change; supports implementation of approved changes
- Seek longer term continual improvements, smarter, quicker
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Lead across-functional team spanning engineering, construction, project controls, and planning to deliver high-quality repair orders.
- Act as the accountable owner of repair order delivery performance across multiple clients
- Develops a working knowledge of engineering standards and procedures; participates in key events gaining practical experience.
- Checks Health, Safety, Environment and Security (HSES) implementation by review against standards, procedures, work practices and literature.
- Ability to improve upon the current norm, challenge the procedure, and ensure continual improvement
- Ensure delivery meets contractual requirements and exceeds client expectations through proactive performance management
- Own the achievement of internal and external KPIs, reporting on progress and implementing corrective actions where required.
- Provide regular reviews of portfolio performance, identifying risks and developing recovery strategies where needed.
- Oversee schedule preparation, forecasting, and delivery planning across multiple scopes and clients.
- Alerts more senior personnel in the event of potential delays

Expected:
- Formal project management training either PMP / APM certification is preferred
- It would be essential that you have experience of delivering brownfield modifications or repair orders for North Sea offshore assets
- Knowledge of black trades to assist in the delivery of repair orders and minor mods
- Good understanding of technical work scope, key dates and milestones, and ability to classify projects (i.e., repair or small mods)
- Familiar with project contractual and commercial requirements
- Understands the concept of customer satisfaction and is able to deliver to internal customers and ability to be client facing
- Understands the importance of Project Engineering deliverables and the need for accuracy and timely issue
- Has a good knowledge of engineering standards, procedures and work practices; follows project execution flow chart; developing skills in project and technical execution
- Able to lead small team; develops skills of leadership with minimum intervention from manager
