As the Industry Leader, Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC) designs, develops and manufactures glucose monitoring systems for use in both home and hospital settings. We have a Centre of Excellence in Witney for the development and manufacture of electrodes and biosensors used by patients and healthcare professionals for the day-to-day management of diabetes. The site, and its Statistics Team, has been instrumental in the research, development and manufacture of the FreeStyle Libre Flash Glucose Monitoring System as well as exciting developments in the Libre family including FreeStyle Libre 2, FreeStyle Libre 3 and the Libre Sense system. We are passionate about doing work that improves the quality of people’s lives.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a GRADUATE Statistician to join our Technical Operations Statistics team to provide statistical expertise across the ADC product range collaborating with Technical, Manufacturing, Research & Development, Engineering, Quality and Regulatory colleagues.

In this role, you would be joining a vibrant, friendly and diverse group, where you can expect to work across a varied range of projects and statistical techniques. Our statistical teams collaborate to form a network of Statistics professionals, and offer members the opportunity to share best practices, leverage insights and skill-sharing, and build personal career expertise and professional development.
Key activities as a Statistician include:
- Transfer of products and processes from Research & Development into Manufacturing to support our exciting new product launches.
- Investigation and monitoring of manufacturing, stability and product performance data to drive continuous improvement.
- To be a key individual supporting development trials utilising your statistical background to drive quality and business decisions.
We will expect you to be able to successfully contribute to a small number of projects, and work with colleagues from a range of backgrounds to explain statistical concepts to them. Additionally, you’ll need to be adaptable, have a keen eye for detail, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, strong collaboration and team-working skills. You will have a BSc (or higher) in Statistics or Mathematics. Previous experience working in a regulated or manufacturing environment, and SAS/R programming are advantageous.

GRADUATES BASED IN THE UK
If you are on a Graduate visa, we cannot guarantee you sponsorship from within the UK upon its expiry. Abbott only has a set number of Certificate of Sponsorship applications that can be made each year, which are utilised for highly skilled workers transferring internally. If this limit is reached and other Home Office requirements cannot be met, it will prevent us from being able to sponsor and therefore employ you, unless you are able to secure your own right to work in the UK following the expiry of a Graduate visa.
