TRACK LABOURER - Hamilton Island
Swap city streets for bush tracks and make the outdoors your office. Hamilton Island is seeking a fit and motivated Track Labourer to join our Engineering & Services team. This role is hands-on, physical, and all about keeping our island’s walking trails and natural environment safe, accessible, and thriving.
From building and maintaining tracks through the island’s rugged bushland to tree clearing and general works across the island, no two days will look the same. If you enjoy working outdoors, staying active, and being part of a unique island lifestyle, this could be your perfect fit.

Where you’ll make an impact
- Build and maintain island walking trails across diverse terrain and bushland
- Clear vegetation, manage erosion and sediment control, and maintain safe access routes
- Assist with daily wildlife management and control activities
- Carry out general labouring and island maintenance tasks as required
- Complete pre-start checks and maintain vehicles in clean, safe and roadworthy condition
- Create and follow Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) for all activities
- Uphold grooming, hygiene, and workplace health & safety standards in line with Hamilton Island’s Code of Conduct
- Record and process labour hours, materials and job details accurately
- Respond to after-hours and emergency work when required
What we’re looking for
You’re physically fit, enjoy working outdoors in all kinds of weather, and thrive on practical, hands-on work. You take pride in contributing to the natural environment and are a reliable team player who isn’t afraid to get stuck in.
To be successful, you’ll need:
- Trade labouring experience (essential)
- Current Queensland manual driver’s licence (essential)
- White Card (essential)
- Current First Aid & CPR certificate, or willingness to obtain (essential)
- Ability to be approved for and hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) (essential)
Experience in any of the following is highly regarded:
- Truck MR licence
- Elevated Work Platform ticket
- Skills with small plant, equipment, and machinery
- Prior experience with bush track building or maintenance
