About This Opportunity  

We are seeking a Senior Management Accountant to deliver high-quality financial analysis, reporting, and advisory services that inform and support financial planning, forecasting, and performance monitoring for senior leaders. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role works in close partnership with client business units and executive leadership teams in a collaborative and service-oriented environment. The successful candidate will be instrumental in aligning financial strategies with business objectives, managing complex budgets and funding agreements, and embedding sound financial governance across operations and projects.

 

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the development and implementation of financial strategies, client service plans, and annual budgets to support business and reporting needs.

  • Provide expert financial advice and insights during planning and review sessions with client leadership to address emerging priorities and future requirements.

  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of financial management services, including escalation of complex client needs and issues.

  • Drive fiscal accountability and performance by managing budgetary controls, conducting variance analysis, and delivering actionable performance reporting and commentary.

About You  

  • Postgraduate qualifications in accounting, business, commerce or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant training and extensive professional experience.

  • Membership of a recognised professional accounting body (CPA, CA or equivalent), or progressing towards eligibility.

  • Strong financial management, accounting and analytical skills, with a solid understanding of financial policy, compliance and risk frameworks.

  • Proven experience in delivering project-based accounting services within complex stakeholder and policy environments.

  • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic and operational financial advice that aligns with business objectives and supports performance outcomes.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a track record of building productive relationships and influencing stakeholders to achieve results.

  • Strong problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to navigate and resolve financial issues in a collaborative and solutions-focused manner.

  • Experience working in professional financial advisory or service delivery functions within large or complex organisations.

 

The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia, criminal check, education check, etc.
