Job Title: Senior Financial Analyst, Supply Chain

POSITION SUMMARY
Vertiv, a global leader in critical infrastructure solutions, is seeking a results-driven Senior Financial Analyst, Supply Chain to join our Americas Operations Finance team. This role will focus on evaluating and tracking procurement and engineering savings initiatives, reporting and mitigating tariff impacts, analyzing freight and warehousing costs, and conducting strategic financial analyses such as make-vs.-buy scenarios. With the support of the Senior Manager, the Senior Analyst will partner closely with Procurement, Engineering, Logistics, Trade Compliance, Operations, and other Finance teams to deliver actionable insights that drive cost optimization, margin improvement, and strategic decision-making across our supply chain for North American operations.
This is an onsite role at our Global HQ in Westerville Ohio.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Savings & Initiative Tracking:
- Partner with Procurement to assess and report on savings initiatives, productivity, and inflation performance
- Track progress toward savings targets and prepare variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior year
- Monitor and communicate forward purchase price changes, risks, and opportunities
- Team up with Engineering Cost Managers to analyze and report margin improvement savings
- Highlight risks and opportunities for cost savings during the preproduction stage
- Logistics & Tariff Analysis:
- Collaborate with Logistics to oversee inbound and outbound freight cost, including variance analysis
- Monitor warehousing costs, ensuring alignment with budget and identifying opportunities for efficiency gains
- Partner with Trade Compliance to analyze and support mitigation strategies that reduce tariff exposure
- Support reporting of tariff impact and variance analysis in actuals and forecast
- Strategic Financial Analysis & Reporting:
- Prepare business cases to support strategic sourcing, logistics, and capital investment decisions
- Conduct cost vs benefit and scenario analyses for make vs. buy, make vs. make, and vendor contracts
- Develop and maintain advanced Excel models to consolidate and analyze large datasets for decision support
- Prepare concise, executive-ready summaries of complex financial information.
- Provide ad hoc analytical support to Supply Chain, Engineering Cost Managers, Logistics, Trade Compliance, Operations, and Finance leadership teams.
QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or Finance
- 5+ years of relevant experience in finance, preferably in manufacturing or supply chain environments.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing finance principles including cost accounting and variance analysis.
- Ability to pull together and summarize large amounts of data into concise explanations.
- Comprehensive and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, data analysis, and modeling skills.
- Experience with supply chain analytics tools or BI platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- ERP systems experience, preferably Oracle
