Experience level: PhD or equivalent work experience

The position

We’re seeking an exceptionally talented and driven Scientist (5+ years of experience) to join our team and push the boundaries of reproductive biology. You will work on developing, and optimizing in vitro gametogenesis protocols using non-human primate (NHP) models, with the goal of building a robust pre-clinical data package. Your work will directly contribute to the safety studies, paving the way for translating human in vitro gametogenesis into clinical applications.

Our mission

Conception is pioneering the future of reproductive biology by generating functional human eggs from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). Successful development of our research could have many benefits, such as removing age limits on motherhood, allowing for easy screening of eggs with harmful genetic mutations, and allowing same-sex couples to reproduce. We are building a world-class team at the intersection of stem cell biology, developmental biology, and synthetic biology to make this vision a reality.

What you’ll do

  • Generate and culture ovarian organoids and follicles derived from NHP models

  • Drive experimental design, troubleshooting, and protocol development for in vitro gametogenesis

  • Work towards generating safety studies, potentially including live-birth NHP studies

  • Analyze data, present findings internally, and contribute to pre-clinical regulatory packages

What we’re looking for

  • Proven expertise in organoid cultures and/or iPSC differentiation (required)

  • Experience with one or more of the following is highly desirable:

    • Large-scale sequencing datasets (e.g. 10x scRNAseq)

    • Immunofluorescence analysis

    • FACS sorting

    • Microdissection and micromanipulation

  • Strong scientific foundation and a track record of executing complex experiments with rigor. Experience in developmental biology or regenerative medicine is a plus.

  • Mission-driven mindset and enthusiasm for high-impact work

  • Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills

  • Meticulous attention to detail and record-keeping

We value passion, curiosity, and determination as much as experience. If you’re inspired by the challenge of building the future of reproductive medicine, we’d love to hear from you.
