General Summary: 

The Manufacturing Manager performing various electrical fabrication tasks under the direct supervision of the Division Manager. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturing processes run efficiently, safely, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and continuous improvement principles. You will be responsible for managing scope, timeline, cost, risk, and quality to ensure successful project completion and alignment with business objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities may include some, or all the following:

  • Lead end-to-end manufacturing initiatives, including new product introductions, process improvements, continuous improvement, and facility expansions.
  • Monitor, analyze, and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Develop, document, and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including time studies, resources, and deliverables.
  • Support the introduction of new products and processes into the production environment.
  • Monitor project progress and performance; identify and mitigate risks, resolve issues, and ensure project milestones are achieved.
  • Ensure projects comply with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and quality expectations.
  • Coordinate with engineering, quality, and maintenance teams on process enhancements and root cause investigations.
  • Conduct training for production staff on equipment, processes, and safety procedures.
  • Assist in the implementation of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare and deliver regular status reports and presentations to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Manage project documentation and records.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Performs job in a safe manner, understanding and following safety policies and procedures and makes suggestions to improve the workplace.

 

Preferred Job Skills:

  • Always maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
  • OSHA 10 Hour, CPR, and First Aid trained.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
  • Experience in regulated industries (e.g., automotive, aerospace, medical device).
  • Able to maintain high levels of productivity, meeting deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
  • Must be an effective and professional communicator.

 

Experience & Requirements:

  • License: Valid state driver's license.
  • Certification: Lean Six Sigma 6 Black Belt Preferred  
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production support role.

 

Mandatory Hiring Requirements:

References, Background Check, Drug Screen Testing, Valid Driver’s License.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Job requires working in all weather elements; heat, cold, rain, or snow, depending on job location and time of year.
  • Combination of office and manufacturing floor environment.
  • Work from all types of ladders and be able to transport/relocate ladders unassisted.
  • You must wear all personal protective equipment as required
  • Must be able to regularly work 40 hours per week plus overtime as required.

Required Physical/Mental Functions:

  • Positively identify colors of wire and other items as required.
  • Comprehension of construction drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Bend conduit using hand benders.
  • Must have the ability to safely use required power tools.
  • Comprehend and practice safe work procedures as outlined in Company Safety Handbook.
  • Operate two handed tools as required. Cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, etc.
  • Operate company truck with manual and automatic transmission.
  • Read and interpret maps, instructional manuals, work site directions, and written instructions.
  • Must hear and see well (either natural or with correction).
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach overhead.
  • Able to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Tolerant to prolonged standing and movement on foot.
  • Climb ladders (all types).
  • Must be able to make transition from employee parking area or street into construction work areas and to gain access to all levels of the building, even if the only means of access is by O.S.H.A. approved site construction ladder or stairs still under construction but acceptable for use.
  • Must be able to secure tools and materials from storage areas to complete assigned tasks.
