Ready to revolutionize healthcare, making it faster and more accessible than ever before?
How we started:
Back in 2013, our founder Dwayne D’Souza saw an opportunity to give people faster and more convenient access to medications using technology. We've grown rapidly since our inception, without any external funding whatsoever – achieving profitability through innovation and a highly disciplined approach to growth.
Where we are now:
We’ve earned the trust of millions of people worldwide through our top-selling products and well-known brands: MedExpress, Dermatica, ZipHealth, RocketRX, and Levity. A lot of our success is down to having our own pharmacies, manufacturers and products – spearheaded by leading in-house medical teams, researchers and pharmacists. Between 2023 and 2024 our global revenue tripled; £60m to £180m (300% year-on-year growth). We're looking to do the same in 2025; move into new territories, and further accelerate our growth journey. There’s never been a more exciting time to join HeliosX.
Where we’re going:
Over the next five years, you’ll support our goal to become a world-leading healthcare partner, deepening our customer relationships, expanding into new countries, and diversifying our product portfolio to treat more conditions. You’ll be part of helping more people access prescription treatments and, most importantly, making personalised care better, quicker and easier for everyone.
Come be a part of making our dream of easier and faster healthcare a reality!
The Role
This is a high-impact, execution-driven role where you’ll be responsible for the operational delivery of HeliosX’s international expansion from a People lens. You will:
- Own the end-to-end People Operations setup for new markets, from onboarding local hires to setting up payroll, benefits, contracts, and compliance.
- Establish compliance frameworks to ensure we meet legal, tax, and regulatory requirements in each jurisdiction.
- Be hands-on: inputting into Deel, drafting contracts, validating compliance with local advisors, running reports, coordinating with Finance, and solving operational issues daily.
- Partner with leaders across International, Finance, Legal, and Clinical to ensure People Operations supports the commercial strategy in each market.
- Document and scale: build repeatable playbooks, trackers, and checklists that ensure consistency across every new entity or country launch.
Key Responsibilities
International Expansion Delivery
- Execute the People Operations workstream for new country launches (Netherlands, Ontario, Germany, Spain, South Africa, Brazil and more).
- Lead the operational setup of contracts of employment, local benefits, payroll providers, statutory compliance, and HR systems.
- Manage country-by-country onboarding requirements (e.g. local right-to-work, DBS/medical checks, licensure validation for healthcare staff).
- Draft and roll out contracts and policies tailored to each market, working with local advisors where needed.
- Build structured expansion trackers (200+ line detail) with clear owners, due dates, and compliance milestones.
Compliance & Risk Mitigation
- Partner with Finance and Legal to ensure full compliance with local employment law, tax, and regulatory requirements.
- Establish frameworks for probation, performance, and exit processes aligned to local law.
- Maintain a clear audit trail of compliance for every market.
- Act as first point of escalation for People Ops compliance issues in international markets.
Hands-On People Ops Execution
- Be the “doer”: enter data, upload to Deel, build benefits trackers, run onboarding packs, and manage daily People Operations tasks for international hires.
- Partner with Talent and International to ensure smooth handover from candidate offer to compliant onboarding.
- Support direct employee queries in new markets, providing timely and accurate responses.
- Proactively identify gaps in People processes and fix them quickly.
Documentation & Scaling
- Build playbooks, SOPs, and scalable frameworks for international People Operations.
- Ensure everything is repeatable and documented, from payroll setup to entity onboarding.
- Create country fact sheets for leaders and managers on People processes, benefits, and compliance requirements.
About You
You’ll thrive in this role if you are:
- Hands-on and execution-focused: you enjoy rolling up your sleeves, building trackers, uploading data, and fixing problems yourself.
- Detail-obsessed: you notice risks, compliance gaps, and errors, and correct them before they escalate.
- Internationally experienced: exposure to People Operations across multiple markets, with depth across at least one core region (e.g. EMEA, APAC, US).
- Structured and organised: able to manage 100+ line project trackers and keep leaders aligned on progress.
- Calm under pressure: you can handle fast-moving priorities, expansion deadlines, and operational escalations with composure.
- Collaborative: you work closely with Finance, Legal, Clinical, and International teams to get the job done.
- Growth mindset: you enjoy building from scratch and scaling processes for the long term.
Requirements
- 4-6 years’ experience in People Operations, with at least 2+ years handling international People/HR.
- Demonstrated depth of experience in at least one major region (e.g. EMEA, APAC, US) and broad exposure across multiple markets.
- Strong working knowledge of multi-country payroll, contracts, benefits, and compliance.
- Experience working with platforms like Deel, Greenhouse, BambooHR, and Zinc.
- Proven ability to build detailed trackers, SOPs, and compliance frameworks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguous, high-growth, scaling environments.
- A hands-on IC operator: not just delegating, but collaborating and doing.
What you’ll get
