Join our Oilfield and Industrial Chemicals Team
Baker Hughes is seeking a corrosion scientist to work in the Integrity Management Technology team based at the Liverpool Centre of Excellence site. You will be comfortable working around production chemicals in a laboratory setting and be able to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously. You will collaborate with other members of the technology team, customers and other relevant stakeholders on a regular basis.
You will also be responsible for:
- Performing corrosion inhibitor evaluations in a laboratory research environment:
- Conducting atmospheric, high temperature and pressure autoclave testing on oil, water samples and product formulations
- Communicating and presenting data to clients and other relevant stakeholders
- Analysing and interpreting technical data to help customers solve their problems and produce aligned technical reports
- Practicing safe working habits, including complying with HSE rules and regulations.
- Handling special projects as assigned

To be successful in this role you will have:
- Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related subject
- Some experience in a lab setting with corrosion applications
- Project management skills: you will be handling multiple projects at a given time and would need to manage them at a high standard
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- A Team Player mindset
- Ability to work on own initiative once fully trained
- Ability to work in a fast paced and high volume environment able to adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines
