As a Commercial Sustainability Team Lead, you will play a crucial role in leading the team which is engaged in working with top global customers (Key Clients) of Maersk to develop and implement sustainable propositions, with a specific focus on emission visibility and biofuel adoption. Your expertise in sustainability initiatives will enable our customers to achieve their sustainability goals while driving positive environmental impact. We enable our customers get closer to their pursuit of achieving Net Zero. The role is Commercial in nature.

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 10 years of proven experience in a sustainability-focused role, preferably within the shipping or logistics industry, and at least 3–5 years of demonstrated experience in managing and leading teams.

Responsibilities:

1. Sustainable Solution Development:

   - Collaborate with key clients to understand their sustainability objectives and challenges.

   - Propose, develop, and present innovative sustainable solutions tailored to the specific needs of each customer.

   - Create & build value propositions addressing the carbon footprint of our customers by proposing adoption of bio fuels for their logistics operations, among other products.

2. Biofuel Conversion Strategy:

   - Advise customers on the benefits of adopting biofuels to reduce their carbon footprint.

   - Carry customer research & liaise internal & external stakeholders to assess the feasibility of proposing biofuel-based alternatives for our customers.

   - Coordinate with internal teams and external customer representatives to facilitate the seamless transition to biofuel shipments.

3. Sustainability Workshops:

   - Organize and lead sustainability workshops with top global clients to promote awareness and understanding of sustainable practices & propositions.

   - Serve as the subject matter expert on emission reduction, biofuel adoption, and other sustainability-related topics during these workshops.

4. Customer Relationship Management:

   - Cultivate strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients to understand their evolving sustainability needs and aspirations.

   - Act as the primary point of contact for sustainability-related inquiries and support for assigned clients.

  - Able to build & hold strong stakeholder relations, internally & externally.

5. Market Intelligence:

   - Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to sustainability and emission reduction in the shipping & logistics sector.

   - Analyze market data and competitor initiatives to identify new opportunities for sustainability-focused service offerings.

6. People’s person:

- The applicant is expected to lead a team of Commercial Sustainability analysts and senior analysts.

- Comes with an owners mindset to drive and lead the team on commercial pursuits.

- Self-motivated and optimistic.

- The role requires strong collaboration with team at Maersk’s Headquarters in Copenhagen.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, Sustainability, Business, Logistics, or related fields. Advanced degrees are advantageous.

- In-depth knowledge of sustainability practices, emission reduction strategies, and biofuel logistics.

- Familiarity with emission dashboard technology and its implementation for tracking and reporting carbon emissions.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess customer needs and propose tailored sustainable solutions.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently when required.

- Passion for sustainability and making a positive impact on the environment and society.
