Job Opening: Cook -- Long Term Care Facility

 

Location: Brookestone Acres

 

Position Type: Culinary Specialist

 

Shift Hours: 10:00 AM -- 5:30 PM

 

Schedule: 2-3 Weekdays (M-F), every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday) & every other holiday required (New Years Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas).

Position Summary:

 

We are seeking a dependable and enthusiastic Cook to join our Culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for preparing wholesome meals and a heart for serving seniors. You'll be responsible for preparing daily meals according to dietary guidelines, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen, and contributing to a positive dining experience for our residents.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

* Prepare and serve meals in accordance with planned menus and resident dietary needs

 

* Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met at all times

 

* Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and work areas

 

* Assist with inventory, food storage, and supply rotation

 

* Collaborate with dietary staff to ensure timely meal service

 

* Provide friendly and respectful service to residents and staff

 

 

Qualifications:

 

* Previous cooking experience in healthcare, hospitality, or institutional setting preferred

 

* Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations

 

* Ability to follow recipes and adapt to dietary restrictions

 

* Strong teamwork and communication skills

 

* ServSafe certification (not required)
