The Public Works Maintenance & Operations Center for the City of Redmond is responsible for ensuring proper maintenance and operation of all public and private stormwater systems within the City. As a Stormwater Maintenance Technician, you will work with your team to ensure the public and private stormwater systems are maintained to help prevent flooding, protect water quality, and to preserve natural stormwater processes.
The schedule for this role is: 4/10s from 6am-4:30pm Monday - Thursday
Position Duties
Inspect storm water systems (storm water catch basins, manholes, control structures, vaults, pipelines, storm lines, culverts, under drains, dredge ditches, outfalls, ponds, creeks and stream beds, Bioswales, sediment traps, diversion structures, advance storm filters) for proper function and integrity
Maintain, repair, replace and clean storm water systems
Install new storm water structures
Design and adhere to job site safety plan
Order, schedule and perform concrete pours and lay asphalt
Perform inspection, monitor flow meters, maintain records, collect and preserve samples of discharges at decant facility for testing and reporting to King County while maintaining compliance with the discharge permit
Report changes and new installations in storm water systems to GIS
Maintain a functioning drainage system by use of manual and mechanical means to clear debris from storm structures such as Type 1 and 2 catch basins, ponds, bioswales, detention and retention systems, vaults, oil/water separators and Eco filters.
Install new storm structures, and repair or replace existing storm structures, control structures, pipes, curbs, pavement, sidewalks and landscaping
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience
Any combination equivalent to high school diploma or equivalency and one (1) year construction or trades experience.
Licenses and Certificates:
Valid Washington State Driver's License required
Additional licenses and certificates that may be required depending on the area in which incumbent is assigned:
CDL, Class A with tanker endorsement.
Washington State Department of Transportation Flagging Certification.
First Aid/CPR.
Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead.
