Job Description: Freedom High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to serve as the Head Coach for our high school boys wrestling program. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading student-athletes in developing skills, teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love for the game while ensuring a safe and positive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and conduct team practices, conditioning sessions, and game preparation.
Teach sport-specific skills, rules, and strategies appropriate to the level of competition.
Manage game-day operations, including strategy, substitutions, and team leadership.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes at all times.
Promote academic achievement, positive behavior, and sportsmanship among team members.
Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents/guardians, school staff, and administration.
Maintain athletic equipment and facilities and ensure compliance with all school and district policies.
Qualifications:
Prior coaching or playing experience in the applicable sport preferred.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to positively mentor and motivate students of varying ability levels.
Requirements:
Must complete all required coaching education and annual training courses as mandated by the school district and/or state athletic association.
Must undergo and receive a satisfactory result on a pre-employment drug screening.
Compensation: Stipend based on district athletic pay scale.
