Job Summary

The San Diego County Office of Education is recruiting for a School Social Worker - Alternative Education for the Juvenile Court and Community Schools (JCCS) department of the Student Service and Programs division. Under general supervision from assigned administrator, plans, coordinates, organizes, and manages the implementation of social-emotional learning and mental health programs aligned with the San Diego County Office mission, goals, and objectives for student learning. The current vacancy is grant-funded through June 30, 2027. ABOUT JCCS SDCOE's Juvenile Court and Community Schools (JCCS) provide a fully accredited educational program for school-age youth who are either wards of the court or have been referred by social services, probation, or one of the 42 school districts in San Diego County. Services are provided to students who are incarcerated, pregnant or parenting, in foster care, expelled, chronically truant, in drug treatment centers and group homes for neglected or abused children, and experiencing homelessness.     • Transcript(s) verifying Master's Degree (or higher)
    • Valid California Clear Pupil Personnel Services Credential in School Social Work issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing
    • Additional authorization in Child Welfare and Attendance (if applicable)
    • Valid Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker in the State of California (if applicable)
    • Valid CPR and First Aid certification (if applicable)

Requirements / Qualifications

This position requires a combination of education and experience equivalent to a master’s degree from an accredited college/university and successful experience that demonstrate ability to perform essential functions of the position.

Certificates, Licenses, Credentials:

  • California Pupil Personnel Services Credential in School Social Work
  • Additional authorization in Child Welfare and Attendance preferred
  • Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker in the State of California is preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification are highly desirable.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Salary Info

Basic Teacher Compensation Plan 064: $61,109 - $108,327 annually
