Your area of work
As Director/Head of Strategy - Eurex, you will lead the strategy team for one of the world’s leading derivatives exchanges, taking ownership of strategy analysis, development and coordination. You will execute key strategic initiatives and ensure alignment and collaboration with other businesses in Trading & Clearing and Deutsche Börse Group. In this role, you will report to the CEO of Eurex Frankfurt AG and work closely with the Eurex Executive Board as well as senior decision-makers. You will act as a strategic advisor and operational enabler. The objective is to structurally continue Eurex’ growth story and keep the organization aligned on this journey.
Your responsibilities
- You are part of the Eurex Leadership team and responsible for the development of Eurex´s long-term strategic goals in close collaboration with the Eurex CEO and the Trading & Clearing strategy teams and translate these into actionable plans and milestones across business units
- You act as a key advisor and sparring partner to Eurex’s CEO, supporting strategic decision-making and priority setting
- You conduct in-depth market, competitor and trend analyses to identify and prioritize strategic opportunities, risks, and areas for innovation
- You prepare high-impact presentations and strategic briefings for senior stakeholders, ensuring clarity and consistency in messaging
- You lead strategic initiatives focused on long-term growth, including inorganic opportunities and partnerships
- You manage cross-functional projects requiring executive attention and alignment across Deutsche Börse Group
- You organize strategic workshops, leadership offsites, and cross-segment forums to drive alignment and innovation
- You serve as a strategic liaison between the executive board and the wider organization, ensuring alignment and shared vision
Your profile
- You have proven experience in strategic leadership roles, ideally within financial services, capital markets, or (in-house) consulting for M&A strategy, along with an academic degree in a relevant field
- You possess strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesize complex information into clear strategic insights, enabling data-driven decision-making
- You have a solid understanding of capital markets and business fundamentals, both theoretical and practical, with a proven track record of successful project execution
- You are a strategic thinker with a track record of shaping long-term business direction, identifying growth opportunities, and mitigating risks
- You have demonstrated the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive strategic initiatives globally, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
- You have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging at board level and presenting complex strategies in a clear and compelling manner
