The Technical Sales Support Specialist plays a key role in enabling MSCI’s APAC Technical Sales team to deliver high-quality analytical and technical support throughout the sales cycle. This role works closely with Senior Technical Sales Specialists, Sales, Product, and Client teams to ensure timely execution of pre-sales activities, including portfolio analysis, tool configuration, demo preparation, and proposal support.
The successful candidate will support MSCI’s Enterprise Risk and Performance Analytics solutions—with a focus on RiskManager—by coordinating the delivery of data-driven insights, maintaining high-quality client-facing outputs, and ensuring consistency across sales engagements. This role is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, technically proficient, and eager to grow within a client-facing, solution-oriented environment.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Support the sales team by preparing high-quality client portfolio analyses and responding to technical inquiries (with the guidance of Senior TSS) during the sales process.
- Load, configure, and validate portfolios within RiskManager, ensuring consistency with clients’ investment strategies and instrument structures.
- Collaborate with Senior Technical Sales Specialists to prepare demos and proof-of-concept presentations tailored to client needs.
- Conduct portfolio data diagnostics, including identifying missing, inconsistent, or anomalous data, and proposing resolutions.
- Assist in creating pitch materials, reports, and dashboards that clearly articulate the value of MSCI’s risk and performance tools.
- Coordinate internally across Sales, Product, and Analytics teams to ensure alignment and timely delivery of outputs.
- Participate in pre-sales workshops and training sessions to improve understanding of client needs and MSCI capabilities.
- Maintain documentation and reusable analytical components to improve team efficiency and support knowledge transfer.
- Where appropriate, engage directly with prospects to retrieve data or clarify technical inputs under senior guidance.
- Monitor and track key follow-up actions post-demo or client meeting in collaboration with the lead sales team.
Your skills and experience that will help you excel
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in risk analytics, financial services, or technical client support; prior exposure to MSCI RiskManager is highly desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Familiarity with financial instruments across asset classes, risk models (e.g., VaR), and portfolio analytics.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Effective communicator with solid written and verbal English skills; able to articulate technical content clearly.
- Proficiency in Excel (VBA/Macro experience a plus), and presentation tools such as PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of SQL or scripting tools (e.g., Python) is a plus but not required.
- Professional certifications such as CFA or FRM are a plus and will be supported for career progression.Top of Form
