The Role: Reporting to the Groundwater Manager, purpose of the role is to develop and implement company processes for identifying, modelling, monitoring and managing impacts to surface hydrological processes, the natural and built environment arising from subsidence due to Arrow’s operations, ensuring Arrow meets its statutory obligations and stakeholder commitments.
This is a Brisbane based position and will require occasional travel to our field operations as required, with plenty of notice.
In addition, you will:
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to consistently role model Arrow’s values, code of conduct, safety and the environment.
- Establish positive and productive working relationships with key stakeholders.
- Model inclusive behaviours to create a safe environment where different views and perspectives are encouraged and valued.
- Be the Arrow technical authority for overland flow and subsidence monitoring due to groundwater extraction and represent Arrow in public and technical forums on the science and Arrow processes to monitor and manage impacts.
- Develop and implement procedures and systems to comply with CSG induced subsidence related obligations arising from Environmental Authorities, the Water Act, the Regional Planning Interest Act, and Commonwealth conditions of approval.
- Contribute technical expertise to geomorphological, agronomic, hydrological and hydraulic related studies including reviewing and refining project plans, data analysis and reports.
- Lead an interdisciplinary team of geomatics, agronomy, engineering and remote sensing specialists and contractors, to deliver Arrow's program of modelling, monitoring and management of CSG induced subsidence to ensure compliance with regulatory obligations, commitments and Arrow's systems/processes.
- Demonstrate Arrow's compliance with statutory obligations and stakeholder commitments relating to CSG induced subsidence by supporting and taking part in engagements with stakeholders and regulators.

You will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to contribute to a high performing-team with a second-to-none focus on safety and integrity.
To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:
- Qualification: University degree [OR] First degree [OR] Other Professional Qualification
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in environmental or agronomic hydrology and hydraulics.
- Experience conducting geomorphological, hydrologic and hydraulic assessment and developing fit for purpose monitoring and management objectives.
- Understanding of water and environmental legislation to translate legal requirements into sound strategy, processes and standard operating procedures.
- Undertaking and documenting risk assessment.
- Success in managing contractor and key external stakeholder relations.
