Services are provided through our five main campuses:

Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital.  In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.

 

About the Role: 

We are currently seeking a qualified Carpenter to join our team, reporting to the Engineering Operations Manager. The successful applicant will work cohesively with all trades in their day-to-day activities, the Carpenter duties will assist in general maintenance, repairs, inspections to buildings, equipment, minor building works and maintenance support. Rotation across all Northern Health sites

 

This role is responsible for:

  • A demonstrated understanding of the importance of teamwork in a health service environment, including the ability to work collaboratively and cohesively with colleagues, supervisors and other stakeholders
  • Ability to work across multiple areas throughout the Northern Health Maintenance Department
  • Positive interpersonal skills and a teamwork approach
  • Ability to communicate with a broad range of people
  • Effective time management, planning and organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines

 

To be successful in this role you will have: 

  • Trade qualified Carpenter: Compulsory
  • Providing carpentry services in line with Victoria Health guidelines.
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory and legislative requirements.
  • Be available for on-call breakdowns and provide shift cover. Rotation included
  • Be prepared to participate in the on-call roster
  • Sound knowledge of Hospital carpentry maintenance and OH&S requirements;
  • Good Interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement;
  • Analysis and problem-solving skills;
  • Experience in using maintenance system CMMS (Advantageous);
  • Industrial experience preferred from within the Health industry is desired, but not essential.
