About the role
We’re seeking a Climate & Energy Advisor to help deliver Transurban’s climate and sustainability strategy across our operations and projects.
Join our Environment & Sustainability team in a hands-on advisory role that spans GHG accounting, renewable energy management, climate transition planning, and integration of emissions reduction initiatives. You’ll work closely with internal teams to track performance, support effective governance, and embed sustainability outcomes aligned with enterprise-wide targets.
As our Climate & Energy Advisor, you’ll contribute to lasting and positive changes that shape the future of sustainable infrastructure. It’s meaningful, challenging, and exciting work.
Day-to-day, you will:
Support GHG data collection, validation and reporting across assets and projects, with a focus on scope 3 and customer emissions
Contribute to internal and external disclosures, including ESG reporting and assurance processes
Maintain and improve data systems and controls for emissions tracking
Assist in implementing renewable energy procurement strategies and manage LGC/REC governance
Identify and track energy efficiency and emissions reduction initiatives across operations
Monitor energy usage and provide insights to support reporting and performance improvement
Support delivery of the Climate Transition Action Plan (CTAP) across design, construction, operations and procurement
Engage suppliers on climate risk and GHG management via CDP and other platforms
Collaborate with project and asset teams to embed sustainability requirements
Prepare communications, presentations and case studies to highlight sustainability achievements
Provide training and support to employees and contractors involved in decarbonisation activities
Contribute to broader sustainability reporting, benchmarking and certification processes
Support workplace health, safety and environmental compliance in line with HSE policies
This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including:
Experience in infrastructure or project environments
Demonstrated experience in GHG accounting and reporting within a large, complex organisation
Interest or experience in renewable energy procurement and energy efficiency
Familiarity with low-carbon building materials and infrastructure sustainability
Strong analytical and data management skills, with proficiency in Excel, Tableau or Power BI
Ability to influence stakeholders and foster continuous improvement in sustainability governance
Knowledge of sustainability frameworks such as TCFD, ISSB, ASRS, GHG Protocol, SBTi, NGER, ISC ratings
