The position

With immediate effect, we are seeking a highly motivated Research Laboratory Scientist to join our Human Cancer Immunology team within Oncology Research in Vienna. The successful candidate will actively contribute to the understanding of the mechanism of action of novel cancer immunotherapies. 

This position is a limited contract for 2 years.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Design, develop and implement cellular immune cell assays based on human primary immune cells.
  • Establish assay systems mimicking the tumor microenvironment.
  • Perform multiplexed analysis, such as multicolour flow cytometry and ELISA.
  • Independent execution, evaluation and documentation of experiments.

Requirements

  • PhD or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. molecular biology, pharmacology, molecular medicine, immunology).
  • Prior experience in isolation and culture of human primary immune cells, with a background in myeloid and T-cell biology being an advantage.
  • Hands-on experience on immune cell cultures and in co-cultures of immune cell and tumor cells. Solid knowledge and expertise in immunological techniques (e.g. multicolour flow cytometry, multiplexed ELISA). Expertise in fluorescence microscopy will be valued.
  • Ability to independently plan, execute, evaluate and document experiments.
  • Team-oriented with good communication skills, with English as working lenguage.

The minimum gross annual salary for this position is € 47.532,24 per year (full-time) according to the classification in the collective bargaining agreement for the chemical industry. Depending on professional experience and qualifications, we offer an overpayment.
