Job Summary:
The Assistant Banquet Manager is responsible for the successful setup, execution, and breakdown of all banquet functions. Collaboration with food and beverage management, culinary as well as other departments. The assistant banquet manager is also expected to supervise and manage service staff, as well as provide leadership and guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creating to-do lists, creating service plans, and directing staff before events as necessary
- Set up and tear down audio-visual equipment
- Managing inventory for alcohol and food items
- Taking point of contact for hosts of events
- Keeping staff on task and engaged.
- Communicating with kitchen staff regarding needs
- Ensuring that staff tasks are completed before checking in with management
- Be a resource for staff
- All of the responsibilities of a server
- Training new staff
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Communication and leadership skills
- Organization and task management
- Knowledge of how to set up and tear down events in a hospitality setting
- Self direction
- Leadership skills
- Training skills
- Restaurant or hospitality skills
