We’re helping one of our top clients—a boutique family law firm—hire a Director of Operations to run firm-wide business operations and help bring their growth strategy to life from their Miami office.
Position Overview
This is a leadership role for someone business-minded, results-focused, and ready to take charge of everything outside of practicing law. You’ll be the right hand to the Owner and COO—keeping the firm running smoothly, setting clear expectations, and making sure the systems in place support the firm’s ambitious growth.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Systems
Build, implement, and improve operational systems and processes.
Document and enforce policies, workflows, and training materials.
Define and track KPIs across departments with firm leadership.
Oversee and improve technology systems—from case management to communication tools.
Manage IT vendors to keep systems secure, reliable, and effective.
Handle office operations including facilities, safety, and vendor relationships.
People & HR
Recruit, hire, train, and manage all non-legal staff.
Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching and feedback.
Write job descriptions and set clear expectations.
Work with department heads on workforce planning and future hiring needs.
Enforce policies while building a culture of accountability, respect, and high performance.
Finance
Manage budgets, forecasting, and expense control.
Work with bookkeeping and accounting vendors for accurate reporting.
Streamline billing to ensure clients are invoiced clearly and on time.
Use reporting to find ways to improve efficiency and drive growth.
Marketing & Business Development
Partner with the Owner to shape and execute marketing and business development plans.
Lead client retention and relationship initiatives.
Oversee marketing and intake teams, making sure efforts align with firm goals (until a Director of Marketing is hired).
Track and deliver on lead conversion KPIs and referral programs.

Who You Are
Experienced as a Director of Operations or similar leadership role in a professional services firm (law firm experience is a plus)
Obsessed with systems, metrics, and results
Skilled in HR, finance, process improvement, and team leadership
Tech-savvy and confident leading operational improvements
A strong communicator and natural culture builder
