Corteva Agriscience is seeking a Seed Processing Specialist to join our multi-crop research center in Lubbock, Texas. You will serve as a part of a multi-crop team supporting local sorghum / cotton breeding programs and regional yield testing of corn. You will be focused on leading ginning and delinting of cotton seed. You will have an enthusiasm for collaborating in a team environment where evolving technologies in agriculture are driving product development.

What You'll Do:

  • Plan, coordinate and manage execution of cotton ginning and delinting activities related to Corteva’s cotton breeding program. Ensure high quality results and on time delivery to our internal clients.

  • Meet tight deadlines and quick turnarounds that will require extended hours during seasonal peaks.

  • Manage and train contingent workforce to achieve high safety and quality standards.

  • Participate in process planning and prioritization to accommodate timely ginning, delinting, and data return.

  • Manage data flow and data quality with proprietary Corteva IT database systems. 

  • Ensure scheduled maintenance is completed and documented on all processing and supporting equipment. 

  • Perform and verify, on a regular basis, fulfillment of CAMS (Quality Systems) and EHS&S (Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability) standards, identify potential risk on operations, promote safety procedures and Core Values.

  • Foster a collaborative and motivating work environment, promoting effective communication and teamwork.

What Skills You Need:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or related scientific field with 10 or more years related experience or Master’s degree (preferred) in agriculture or related scientific field with 5 or more years related experience.

  • Knowledge of agronomy, crop production, plant development, and experimental field plot design.

  • Strong attention to detail in a deadline driven environment.

  • Ability to operate fork truck while observing all safety requirements.

  • Demonstrate skills in leadership, operational safety, labor supervision, and time management.

  • Ability to develop a working relationship with team members by exhibiting excellent communication and personal interaction skills with a diverse group of people.

  • Must be capable of working in varying ergonomic and environmental conditions for extended periods of time.

  • Flexibility to work extended days at critical times of the season.

  • A valid US driver’s license is required.
