TITLE OF IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: 

Family Childcare Partnership Manager

POSITIONS SUPERVISED:

 

BASIC PURPOSE:  

To assist with the administration of the health, nutrition and safety component of the Early Head Start/Child Care Partnership grant as well as supporting center-based Early Education programs including Head Start, Day Care & School Readiness to ensure that program requirements are met.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Ensure that all state and federal compliance regulations are implemented within all classrooms and family childcare home settings.
  2. Assist with the tracking of family childcare provider, staff , volunteer and consultant physicals as well as required trainings such as but not limited to first aid, CPR, OSHA, etc.
  3. Provide orientation and training for all family child care providers, volunteers and substitute teachers.
  4. Ensure completion of required 45 day hearing/vision screenings and growth assessments for children enrolled within family childcare settings. Assist with center screenings as needed.
  5. Facilitate the creation of and ensure children with medical, nutritional or other needs have up-to-date Individual Health Plans within each FCC home.
  6. Provide ongoing support and training to FCC providers with regard to best practice approaches to health and safety within each FCC home.
  7. Ensure children within each FCC home are up-to-date with all CT EPSDT standards including a current dental visit.
  8. Assist with the coordination of diaper distribution within the family childcare homes and centers as needed.
  9. Ensure compliance with staff health trainings and accuracy of state OEC registry.
  10. Communicate effectively with families regarding the health and nutritional needs of their children.
  11. Assist with the development and implementation of staff training and development plans and preservice/inservice trainings to support the delivery of services to children and families.
  12. Assist in the development and implementation of appropriate component plans in compliance with federal performance standards.
  13. Actively participate in program and agency staff meetings.
  14. Participate in and assist with coordination of  Health Service Advisory committee meetings.
  15. Act as back-up to other Coordinators as needed.

 

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.  Plan and organize special events.
2.  Perform other related duties as required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Frequent visits to provier homes with varying degrees of accessibility with office in Early Childhood Center, works with children with communicable diseases.  Moderate computer use.

Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:  Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Public Health, or Human Services with 3+ years of experience.

 

EXPERIENCE:  Minimum of 2 years experience preferably in early childhood setting.

 

SPECIAL SKILLS:   Knowledge of state licensing standards, Head Start performance standards,   Understanding of early childhood development a plus, Solid computer skills.

 

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:   Ability to hear the conversational voice, with or without a hearing aid, the ability to see and read newsprint with or without corrective lenses, to speak and be understood under normal circumstances.  Must be able to frequently bend,lift, reach and climb stairs. Ability to lift a minimum of 20 lbs
