The Slot Technician I is responsible for the maintenance, repair, installation and movement of electronic gaming machines and table games.  Promptly respond to calls regarding machine malfunctions and repairs to ensure minimal downtime.  Follows all State EGS regulations and Oaklawn policies and procedures to ensure full compliance and reputation of Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

  • Responsible for repair and maintenance of gaming machines, tables and related gaming equipment.
  • Movement and installation of gaming machines, tables and related gaming equipment.
  • Installation and removal of bases, chairs and signage
  • Maintain gaming logs and work tickets as required
  • Maintains repair shop and related storage areas in clean and safe manner
  • Troubleshoot computers, monitors and computer networks
  • Assist in loading and unloading of machines and signs during deliveries to and removals from property.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on gaming and gaming related equipment to ensure minimal downtime on machines
  • Perform machine verification, audits and tests as needed, maintaining proper documentation of all verifications, audits, tests and maintenance.
  • Maintain knowledge of and adhere to all State, Federal and Company gaming regulations
  • Provide exceptional service to our guests and team members when performing job duties and conduct oneself in a professional and businesslike manner.
  • Promptly answer and respond to radio calls
  • Maintains an attitude & philosophy consistent with the company Core Values and Standards of Behavior with internal & external guests
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to perform physical aspects of the job, as noted in policies and procedures.
  • Must have GED or high school diploma.
  • Preferred one-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, weekends, and overtime as business needs dictate.
  • Excellent skills in both written and oral communication. 
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word) and have knowledge of Slots operating systems.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES                                           

This job may or may not have supervisory responsibilities.

Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
