SE - Campus Recreation Intramural Assistant at Barry University

Summary

The student Intramural employee will assist the Intramural Coordinator in carrying out the mission of the student wellness program.  Assist the administration in all aspects of the Intramural Program and facility supervision.  This is a very energetic job that requires creativity in helping develop intramural program ideas, and assertiveness when supervising and participating in the intramural sports.

Essential Functions

• Plan, promote, supervise, evaluate, and operate intramural activities and other activities as assigned. Assisting the administration in all aspects of the Intramural program and facility supervision maintaining safety for all participants.

• Assist the Intramural Coordinator and Graduate Assistant with developing program goals and strategies for the student intramural program. Including the development and implementation of rules, regulations, and policies governing the Intramural Sports Program.

• Coordinate, document, and evaluate student intramural programming .

• Special Events – On/Off Campus assistance with set-up, breakdown and engagement.

• Perform other duties as assigned by any member of the Recreation professional staff.

Qualifications/Requirements

Flexibility of working hours which may include some evenings and weekends

•         This position will require an in-person presence.
• Have a strong interest in sports and wellness.
•     Ability to collaborate with various campus constituents.
•    Excellent oral and written communication skills, including a willingness to speak in front of an audience.
• Ability to work as a team and independently.
• Must be able to organize and manage a variety of projects simultaneously.
• Ability to be a role model for responsible and healthy lifestyle choices.
• A valid driver's licens
