Location: Based initially in York, PA; must be willing to relocate within the U.S. as the company grows

 

Compensation: $95,000 – $105,000 base salary, plus company-paid relocation bonus once a permanent district is assigned


The Role:

  

As a Bench District Manager at Investment Real Estate Group of Companies (IREGC), you will serve as a flexible, high-impact leader prepared to step into district assignments as our company continues to expand. While initially based in York, PA, you must be open to relocation within the U.S. once a permanent district is assigned.

Bench District Managers provide critical leadership support, overseeing 10–25 self-storage Property Managers and Relief Managers. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you’ll be responsible for driving operational excellence, coaching high-performing teams, and ensuring financial and customer service success across multiple properties.

This position is ideal for a driven leader eager to grow with a rapidly expanding organization and ready to take ownership of a district once permanently assigned.

What You’ll Do:

  

Build and Develop Teams
Recruit, hire, coach, and hold property-level teams accountable. Partner with HR and leadership to develop future leaders.

Deliver Operational & Financial Results
Oversee daily operations, manage P&Ls, control expenses, and achieve revenue and occupancy targets.

Understand Market Dynamics
Stay ahead of the competition by reviewing market data, visiting competitors, and adapting strategies.

Ensure Customer Service Excellence
Model and coach service behaviors that create an outstanding customer experience.

Collaborate Cross-Functionally
Partner with Marketing, Revenue Management, Facilities, and Acquisitions to maximize district performance.

Maintain Property Standards
Conduct inspections, oversee repairs, and ensure facilities are safe, clean, and compliant.

Champion Compliance
Audit practices, ensure adherence to company and state policies, and manage lien/auction processes.

Drive Local Marketing Efforts
Support store-level marketing and community engagement to grow brand presence and rental traffic.

Manage Administrative Responsibilities
Complete employee performance reviews, budgets, expense reports, and other required reporting with accuracy and timeliness.

Own Accountability
Approach each task—big or small—with urgency, professionalism, and a results-driven mindset.

Requirements

Experience:

  

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years of multi-unit operations management experience in retail, property management, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a track record of coaching, team building, and accountability.
  • Strong financial acumen, including P&L management, budgeting, and data analysis.
  • Experience in retail, direct sales, or customer service preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to read and interpret operational documents and reports.
  • Ability to remain seated or in a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Occasional bending, reaching, twisting, and lifting (10+ pounds).
  • Regular travel across assigned region required.
