We’re looking for a caring and motivated Clinic Staff Nurse (RN or LPN) to join our team at Harlan County Health System.

In this role, you’ll provide direct patient care in our busy family medicine clinic, supporting patients of all ages. From assisting with exams and administering medications to educating patients and families, you’ll be an essential part of ensuring quality care in our community.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Current Nebraska RN or LPN license (Medical Assistant certification may be considered)
     
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required
     
  • ACLS preferred
     
  • A positive attitude and strong communication skills
     
  • Previous clinical experience preferred but not required

Requirements

  

Position Summary:
The Clinic Staff Nurse provides direct patient care in the Harlan Family Medicine Clinic setting under the supervision of a Physician. This role manages, organizes, and administers nursing care for patients of all ages, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with Harlan County Health System policies, as well as all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Essential Job Functions:

· Provide direct patient care, including assessment, treatment, education, and documentation.

· Assist with examinations, procedures, and treatments as directed by the Physician.

· Administer medications and immunizations safely and accurately.

· Monitor, record, and report patient symptoms, responses, and progress.

· Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated care.

· Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, preventive care, and health maintenance.

· Maintain accurate and timely patient records in accordance with clinic policies.

· Ensure compliance with infection control and patient safety practices.

· Operate and maintain patient care equipment properly.

· Participate in clinic quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.

· Support other clinic staff as needed to maintain efficient clinic operations.

· Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

· Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

· One (1) year of clinical experience preferred.

Certificates/Licensure/Registrations:

· Current Nebraska LPN or RN license required.

· Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

· Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

· Ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and make sound clinical decisions.

· Proficiency in documentation and electronic health records.

· Ability to work collaboratively and maintain positive working relationships.

· Competency in performing nursing procedures and using patient care equipment.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None

Physical Requirements:

NURSING

· Prolonged periods of standing and walking during shifts.

· Frequent bending, lifting, positioning, or assisting patients.

· May be required to lift or move patients, equipment, and supplies up to 50 pounds.

· Requires visual acuity to assess patients, read labels, documentation, and use medical equipment.

· Manual dexterity for administering medication, using instruments, and patient care tasks.

Working Conditions:

· Clinical setting with direct patient care.

· Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, communicable diseases, and bodily fluids.

· Must adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
