Primary Objective:

Oversee the development and implementation of Behavior Support Plans for clients who require support with challenging behaviors.   Oversees and participates in training all employees in the implementation of basic behavior intervention and Behavior Support Plans.   To provide support to Program Managers and the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) in assuring that the clients who receive services from Open Arms Care are taught appropriate behaviors using techniques that promote dignity and respect.

Essential Functions & Scope:

  • Conduct functional behavior assessment for clients demonstrating behavioral concerns, changes, or who are due for an updated behavior support plan.
  • Develop Function Based behavior intervention plans for clients.
  • Attend Individual Support Plan and IDT meetings for clients requiring behavior intervention.  
  • Train employees on Behavior Support Plans.
  • Provides support, guidance, and intervention during crisis behaviors, including but not limited to being present during the behavior and providing hands on training to staff.
  • Ensure that sites follow state guidelines as well as company policies and procedures concerning behavior services. 
  • Coordinate proper implementation of all behavior programs and communicate with all appropriate medical and other personnel.
  • Prepare data for, and participate in psychiatric team review of individuals on psychotropic medications.  
  • Provide support to staff and conservators and modify behavior plan as necessary with IDT participation.
  • Maintain documents and client records as required by regulation. 
  • Participate in the incident management process.
  • Supervise and direct the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) working directly with the clients.
  • Provide the IDT with daily and weekly feedback on the Maladaptive Behavior Reports.
  • Meet with and direct meetings with the Psychiatrist, presenting behavior reports to help show efficacy of medications.
  • Participate in the admissions of new clients.  Provide insights on the behavior supports required for new admissions.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

Job Requirements:

  • Active Licensed Behavior Analyst in the state of TN 
  • 3-5 years of experience working in the intellectually/developmentally disabled field. 
  • Certification in Professional Crisis Management (PCM) required within 60 days of hire
  • CPR required within 30 days of hire
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
