Supervises core laboratory staff and participates in the performance of various core laboratory procedures. Guides the day to day operations of the core laboratory.
Responsibilities
- Prepares work schedules and assigns duties to laboratory staff.
- Performs experimental testing procedures and suggest changes to increase the validity and reliability of results.
- Ensures validity and accuracy of test results. Instructs trainees in procedures and techniques of performing tests.
- Secures media and supplies for clinical testing and research studies and manages supply requests.
- Directs the technical activities of the core laboratory and assigned laboratory staff.
- Assists in the review and revision of laboratory policies and procedures in preparation for laboratory inspections by various regulatory/accrediting agencies.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's Degree degree in Science required.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:
- Certified as a Medical Laboratory Scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathology or equivalent.
