About the Department
The Town of Davie has transitioned to a four (4) day work week schedule (10 hours per day). Hours of work are Monday through Thursday 7:00am - 5:30pm OR 7:30am-6:00pm.
Under general supervision, performs professional financial accounting and reporting activities for assigned funds and investment accounts. Responsibilities include interpreting records, preparing journal entries, reconciliations and handling billing such as contract services and retiree insurance. Includes other accounting duties as assigned. Reports to the Accounting Manager.
- Prepares, maintains and monitors accounting records that include account analysis and reconciliations; conducts standard reviews of various revenues, funds and departmental accounting records; ascertains that the distribution of general journal entries is reasonable and correct; performs other assignments as requested.
- Analyzes accounting records and reports.
- Analyzes revenues, expenditures, capital assets and other financial information.
- Maintains accounts receivable for contract services, COBRA and retiree insurance.
- Reconciles investment account statements.
- Assists external auditors.
- Performs other related tasks as required.
Position Duties
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or closely related field.
- Two (2) years experience in accounting.
- Accounting experience in a Government Agency is preferred.
