JOB SUMMARY:
The Children Center Department is a fun and exciting way to join the ski industry and the Monarch family. This department is an upbeat, kid focused environment that provides opportunities to earn while still getting to play in the mountains. The Children’s Center Coordinator position is responsible for the care and well-being of children registered with Monarch’s Childcare Center and providing them with attention and ensuring their safety.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
The Children Center Coordinator responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Be an effective employee within the guidelines of department and company policies, procedures and values, in fulfillment of Monarch’s mission statement to “provide our guests with a quality, personalized mountain experience.”
- Work in conjunction with other employees and departments as part of the Monarch team.
- Have an awareness of and work within state and federal childcare codes and regulations.
- Assist Ski and Ride Director schedule department staff for efficient coverage of department functions based on lesson and childcare reservations and projected skier budget. Adjust to actual requirements as appropriate.
- Assist Ski & Ride School Director with initial and ongoing training of Children’s Center staff.
- Assist Ski & Ride School Director in the development and maintenance of training materials, manuals, checklists and other documents necessary for the success of the department.
- Conduct the check in/check out process for registered children, and those scheduled for lessons.
- Plan and provide lunch and snack menus for daily lesson and childcare programs.
- Plan and provide fun and creative children’s activities in a clean, safe and organized environment.
- Comfortably and competently assist children with bathroom breaks, changing diapers when necessary.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
- Enjoy providing care and education to children ages three years to six years of age.
- Good verbal communication skills with children as well as adults.
- Professional appearance.
- Must be able to make fair and reasonable decisions.
- Must be proficient and possess general office skills.
- Positive attitude.
- Is flexible with hours and days of work. Can work any hours during the business day including mornings, evenings or split shifts, and any days of the week (including weekends and holidays)
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum Age: 18
- Legal citizen of the United States or possess other proper work permit authentication.
- High School Diploma or GED required, college degree preferred.
- Background check required.
- Ability to push, lift, and move up to 35 lbs.
- Prior childcare experience preferred.
- Requires working at high elevation (up to 12,000’), with extended exposure to adverse weather conditions, such as severe cold, heavy snowfall, rain, strong winds and intense sun.
