San Luis Valley Health is seeking an individual to join our Finance team as a Full-Time Accounts Payable Specialist. This position will assist with general Accounts Payable Functions, limited general accounting functions, and work as part of the Finance Team to support the mission of San Luis Valley Health. 

What You'll Need:

• High school graduate or GED required.
• Two years previous accounts payable experience.
• Proficient knowledge of computerized accounts payable systems.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions given in written and oral forms.
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Understanding of confidentiality
• Possess personal attributes of honesty and trustworthiness.

What You'll Do:

• Ensure that the accounts payable cycle is completed weekly. 
• Obtain appropriate approvals of all invoices.
• Enter approved invoices into the accounts payable system.
• Prepare invoices for payment.
• Process payments and process all checks and invoices for payment and mailing. 
• File and maintain paper and electronic records.
• Review posting from AP system into the General Ledger.
• Greet co-workers and visitors in the department and provide assistance, as necessary. 
• Assist in meeting departmental deadlines.
• Obtain all appropriate and necessary information from the system. 
• Preparation of accounts payable documents and reports such as Forms 1099, etc. 
• Prepare all required audit, cost report and tax reporting schedules as applicable to AP.
• Assist with computer upgrades and reconciliations.
• Any and all other duties as assigned.
